Inventory Management

Abelisk’s Inventory Management module supports your product sales and procurement processes efficiently and in the detail you require. Each operation - receiving, checking, put away, kitting, picking, packing, and shipping - follows your business processes in your handling units.
The Inventory module allows you to manage and track product at the Product Group, SKU, lot, or the individual unit by Site and warehouse location.  Availability can be in one or two Units of Measure in order to support variable weights and measures.  It provides automation based on your requirements, from fully directed to totally manual, using paper, Bar Code scanning, RFID, voice, or completely automated.  It can be configured to work the way you need.

Abelisk™ Inventory Management Module Advantages

  • Tracking of future available inventory based on expected receive/ship dates
  • Tracking of available in-warehouse inventory by location and status
  • Tracking available quantities in 2 Units of Measure. This allows units and weight/volume to be separately tracked, if required.  For example, “Quantity 2” is required for “catch” weights where prices and costs are based on weight
  • Inventory quantities may be entered at up to 6 handling levels for the primary Unit of Measure with the automatic conversion of quantities to the base inventory unit … units, inners, outers, cartons, pallets, and containers … or in bulk
  • The size and weight of each SKU at each handling level can be defined. This provides the basis for handling and shipping inventory
  • Inventory can be received, stored, moved, and shipped in shipping containers (crates) with unlimited items
  • Pallets can be labeled with SSCC labels
  • Item/SKU inventory can be tracked by site, lot and tracking unit by warehouse and location
  • Item/SKU codes are by owner and are shared across multiple sites.  This allows for consigned, brokered and third party inventories
  • Item/SKU codes can be categorized by purpose, such as sales, purchased, produced, drop shipped, and so on
  • For sales items, taxes, discounts, warranty, returns policy, commissions, etc. can be defined
  • Additional fees, such as embedded taxes and fees, can be added flexibly into the sales price
  • For purchased items, reorder details, taxes, rebates, warranty, returns policy, etc. can be defined
  • Kits can be defined for shipment related to sales items
  • Customer and vendor cross reference tables are available to link their codes to the Abelisk SKU code.  This includes additional information, such as prices, descriptions, order information, etc to be defined
  • Inventory transactions are available to receive, use and adjust quantities.  
  • Transactions can be at the SKU or SKU/lot level with tasks used to manage the physical inventory at the tracking unit and location level
  • Inventory cost and value may be based on actual, average, last, or standard cost for either Quantity 1 or 2 using FIFO, LIFO, FEFO, average, or standard cost methods. Inventory cost is managed independently of availability quantities to provide accurate costing
  • Inventory is fully tracked for accounting purposes.  Receipts add to an inventory asset account and shipments relieve this account.  Usage and receipts can be assigned to any accounting distribution
